Cavity Drain Membrane Basement Waterproofing System:
The Cavity Drain Membrane system is designed for basements that are surrounded by high external water pressure and that are prone to flooding or lateral moisture penetration.
The concept of this system is that when water ingress penetrates the area the water drops down behind the membrane, flows into drainage channels and is then pumped out by a sump pump. The complete system manages the ingress of water leaving you with a structurally integral, watertight area. All of these components are essential to enable the system to work effectively.
Damp Proof Membranes are fixed to the basement walls and floors using our specialist fixings. The membrane should not be left exposed as damage will occur, so it is essential to install the correct floor and wall coverings to suit the requirement. In most cases to prevent a build up of water behind the membrane a submersible sump pump is installed below the floor membrane. A back up sump pump is also normally recommended, both of which should be maintained regularly.
External drain systems can be overhauled by Eradicure-Alliance, if it becomes necessary, to cope with the excess of water that may be generated. Contact us to arrange for our Specialist Surveyor to carry out an inspection of your property.
All of our designs are in compliance with the British Standard for the protection of structures against ground water BS8102: 2009.
